115etl30? Or 115etl80???

It was almost dark when I wrote the numbers down. It sure looked like 115etl 30. But I almost bet now it was 80. I have searched with the search function and find no match. I DID find a post that asked about a 1978 115etl780 and the serial number was very close to mine. My serial number is j4978404.<br /><br />I am getting ready to go back with a flashlight to check the numbers again. But till then, any guess on the year with what I have so far? I know it is a 115hp v4, but that is about it. <br /><br />I have questions about the motor but I will make a new post once I find out the exact model.

I went back and looked. I strained real hard and finally was able to make out the top of a 7. Only the top line was left, but is there. I am about a good solid 98% sure that there is an "0" at the very end. But still, I am pretty confident now that it is a 115ETL78 1978 115hp. The problem is that this motor is crated up and the main part of the crate is right where the tag is so I am looking between a board almost touching the tag. <br /><br />Thank you for the link. That was exactly the type of page I was trying to find google'ing earlier.
