115 mercury driveshaft stuck

new to the site... help if you can. I have a 2001 mercury 115hp four stroke. trying to rebuild the lower unit. cant get the driveshaft out of the lower unit. I have the nut off the bottom. even put a puller on it. no luck. I don't want to break anything. thanks in advance

Have you priced a new gearcase from SEI versus the parts for a rebuild? You may find them similar.

I have priced used lower units. Thought I could get the bearings and seals for about $300???

What about gears and dogs? Usually the prices of the parts nearly equal the price for a new gearcase.
