Hi, need help took my boat out last week went realy well, went out today and had lost all power. its a straight 6/ 2 stroke took about 5 mins to start has normal and then goes every time you turn the key. but today it would tick over sweet and rev up on the idle lever has normal , engage into gear and wouldnt rev past 1500rpm. cables and levers all seem to move and work fine, and had new fuel lines has well, this problem has just happed out of the blue. i put fresh fuel in every time can any one help cheers Andy

I had the same problem with my 90hp in-line 6 and it turned out to be one of the two switch boxes went bad. It was working intermittently, so sometimes I had power, then all of a suddent I would be at less than half power. Replaced the switchbox and ran like a champ!

hi, forgot to say i know very little about boats, so what is a switchbox and did yours sort of die if you gave it full throttle has mine does. the throttle is about 3/4 on and at the most 1500/2000 revs and no go push it anymore and it stops the engine, just cant understand how it revs up to 5000 on the idle lever, what does this switch box do and where can i find it, sorry if i sound thick lol
