I have a 96 model 112VR and it has been about 7 years since I had the themostats changed. I paid to have it done back then, but just recently changed my water pump by myself. I am now in a do it yourself mode.

A service tech posted on my local boating website that it is a very tough job on this motor. I know that it needs to be done, but would like to find out if this job is as difficult as they say. Any helpful hints would be most appreciated. FYI, I do have a Clymer manual to help me.

Re: 112 VR Thermostat Change

If it's been in salt water and has a "bubble back" on the exhaust cover it's not going to be an easy job at all. If it has lived in fresh water all it's life it might not be to bad.
