When reinstalling the crank on my 1954 QD15 10hp. I have new upper and lower bearings carbon seals and the 4 O-rings (2 large 2 smaller). My question is where do the O-Rings go? There is what appears to be an O-Ring grove on the bearings. Do the big O-Rings go there? And do the smaller O-Rings go between the Carbon seal and the bearing? That’s kind of how it looks in the parts book. When taking mine apart there was only one O-Ring on the lower bearing. No other O-Rings were there. The other thing that has me wondering about. If the larger O-Rings go in the grove of the bearing there is no matching grove in the case. (as seen in photo) Do they just seat in the machined flat surface? Hopefully this will make sense to someone. Thanks Bob

1st, make it easier on yourself by removing the carbon seals until you have the powerhead halves bolted up. See the grooves in the case halves? The larger o-rings go around the bearings and lay in the grooves. Make sure the bearing locating pins align with the matching holes in the bearings. The smaller o-ring go inside the carbon seals. Be careful removing the old ones, the carbon is fragile and you will say "durn" when you shatter it.
