I know the link to the $100 paint job. That Originally talked about using Rust-Oleum Oil-Based Enamel, but later recommended Tractor Paint (Oil-Based.

I also found this thread:

.
Question, I have this Wax & Grease Remover and wanted to know if it would be fine with Oil-Based paint?
It says 'WaterBorne'
See attached pic

Thanks

I think that means it’s water based…. The good old standby lacquer thinner will work for alkyd enamel

Will this waterborne wax and grease remover be fine for wiping down a surface that I plan on painting with Oil-Based paint?

I can’t say for sure except probably. I don’t know if BarryK still owns SPI or not but it’s a very good company with tech support. He was on a number of car forums in the past. But they do have a real tech support

Yeah, Barry was always very active in the forums also, and quick to answer questions.
I haven't logged in there for several years.
