My 2003 75 Hp 4 stroke won't turn over. Here's what I've done. I replaced spark plugs, new battery, checked all wiring for corrision. When I replace the spark plug it fired up just fine, so I let the engine running for 15 minutes and shut it off. I tried starting it again and it wouldn't turn over, just clicking. I took the engine cover off and as I turn the key I could see smoke coming from the stator assy. The starter motor would not engage with the fly wheel. Does this mean I need a new starter motor? Any help on this is much appreciated.
