‘93 Lowe 2220 Control cable length

I apologize if this has been asked before, I didn’t ring a previous post. We’ve got a 93 2220 Lowe deck boat with a 93 120 Evinrude outboard. We purchased a new control arm and were instructed that we needed to get the right length cables. I’ve looked at the existing cables and there is nothing on them anywhere. The previous owner was quite ‘creative’ in repairs. How else do I find the right length? THANK YOU!
