I would like to rebuild my front motor mount (inline 6). What is the best way to remove the old one and prepare the fiberglass in the hull? I assume I will make the new one out of 2x8's or whatever it takes to get the correct height. Bevel the ends to fit the shape of the bottom, notch out a drain and coat with resin before installation. Do I glue the boards to the hull? if so, what glue? or just set them and cover in mat and resin? or both?

Re: Front motor mount rebuild

Just epoxy resin it to the "ground and cleaned" hull, then lay it up in fiberglass mat to give it strength???

Do a search on "rotten motor mount" or "motor mount" should be a weeks worth of reading.

After that you will have some other questions, but it will give you a very good idea of what needs to be done and even have some pics.
