    1975 "Rude 25; trying to start

    This motor quit on me on the ICW right after a refueling. I couldn't get it to hit at all. Rebuilt carb and replaced all fuel lines. Still won't hit. Squirted fuel in the carb. Still won't hit. The wires to the shorting switch look real bad. Can this be the culprit? Any way to bypass them?

    My 6hp weighs 35 pounds less than my Yamaha 15. Much easier on this 53 yo back. Would the 6 give a comfortable displacement speed ride?     Do tether kill switches ever fail?

    Boat (Bayliner Ciera 2150) died yesterday while in the middle of getting on plane. The kill switch seemed slightly off (my knee may have hit it). I fiddled with it but couldn't get it to start. Do these switches fail in the stall pattern? It acted like it wanted to start but wouldn't.
