    About to buy my first used Pontoon tomorrow (water test) anything I should watch for?

    The only thing that bothers me is that is a rather large boat for a single axle trailer. Should be a tandem axle I have a 22' Godfrey and it sits on a tandem axle trailer. The rest of the boat looks decent for the age. Give it a good going over and sea trial it prior to finalizing the purchase.

    Rant: Can't catch a break with weekend weather...

    This past weekend I finally got my new boat out on the water. Saturday rained until just before 3 PM so I did not make it out but Sunday was perfect. Breaking in the new motor process was started. Managed to get 5.2 hours on the new motor. Boating season has finally begun for me.

    During my boating career I have been out as early as March 15th and as late as November 7th. I live in S/E Michigan boating mainly on Lake Erie and the Detroit River.

    I find that 2' waves the boat handles them well. 3' is a bit more of a challenge. No. Just two toons. 24" Maximum winds around 15 MPH. Waves 2' or less the boat handles them very well. 3' and it gets a bit more challenging. So that is probably my limit as pontoons are nor rough water boats...

    This past season I towed it with a 2024 Ford Ranger with the 2.3 ecoboost engine. The Ranger did OK. No real issues averaged about 10.6 MPG towing. My longest tow was up to Lake Superior about an 800 mile round trip. Being a pontoon it sits much higher on the trailer than a monohull boat does...
