This is one reason you lower the out drive...

Was the drive shaft intact before/after this incident? Almost makes me wonder if there was a u-joint that was sloppy. What RPM were you running the motor at and for how long?

Restoring a trailer vs replacing a trailer

I just carried an entire hub with bearings, greased and ready to go. In fact, it was also my spare tire carrier. I welded on an axle stub, put the hub on that...tire attached to the hub.

    I'm stuck

What does the rest of the trailer look like? At some point, might be better to just get another trailer.

    Trailer dog tracking

Measure from the axle where it attaches to the spring to the ball on each side. Make sure they are equal.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I would set to 13.4V That 12.5V setting is for lead acid batteries. If you left it at 12.5, the charging wouldn't restart until the lithium battery got down to 12.5V which is basically dead. If it was my boat, I would have yanked that Xantrex inverter and put in a Victron. There is so much I...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

That recharge volts is WAY too low for lithium. It needs to be closer to 13.4V

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I would do that. No need and actually bad if it's being used for lithium.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I just saw you have Battery Temp Compensation turned on. That needs to be off for lithium batteries.

    LiFePO Batteries ???

What is the purpose of the relay mounted between the solar controller and the DC to DC converter?

    LiFePO Batteries ???

What device has the overvoltage warning?

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Is there a catastrophic fuse somewhere after the lithium batteries? You should really have one on the leads right after each battery if not the bus bar. As far as the overvoltage, make sure everything is in lithium mode and there is nothing that is trying to go into equilization which is not...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

It's only important to have the cables that connect the batteries to each other the same length. If each battery is going to a bus bar and not to each other, then it is important for those all to be the same length. However, that is really unnecessary to do...just connect them to each other with...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Just so you know, take anything Will Prowse says with a Costco sized grain of salt. Half of the stuff he says is just plain wrong. Still amazes me that there are still batteries out there without a low temperature cut off feature. LiTime was late in the game adding them. I would never own a...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

You got the trolling motor versions. Those are better than the standard ones and can charge them at a higher rate.

    Boat Pricing

NADA Guides. Fairly accurate on newer boats but gets you in the ballpark with older. I sold my 98 Wellcraft in 2021 slightly above the low price.

Restoring a trailer vs replacing a trailer

if you wanted to keep 10%, you would actually move the axle backwards since the longer tongue would reduce the tongue weight. But like you said, everything changes anyway with a different boat.

Restoring a trailer vs replacing a trailer

You can just go to a metal supply place and buy the steel piece. No need to order from Eastern Marine. I am assuming this trailer has the proper weight rating for the boat you are putting on it? I am guessing this trailer doesn't require brakes?

    Navigating the Colorado

No you can't get by either dam without putting it on a trailer

    LiFePO Batteries ???

Who makes those breakers? Hopefully, not the cheap $20 chinese ones on Amazon. I have those same busbars. I would never buy them again. A third of the posts had galling after tightening them just once and I had to replace. Should have stuck with BlueSea.

Slow to no cranking at times

While cranking, measure voltage drop in the negative cable followed by the positive cable. Measure the voltage of the battery to see what it drops to while cranking. The voltage should be lower than between 9.6V and 10.0V.
