Got my Covid (Moderna) and Flu (high does) shots yesterday. This morning the injection sight is sore but that's normal. Have been getting both since they become available. Don't think I have ever got Covid, and don't know how many years it's been since having the flu.

I have had it like 5 times, but it never was more than a slight cough. I only found out every time because of my grand kids. I self tested with one of those home test kits. I did not want to pass it on to them.

I was wondering if the accuracy of the home test had change, apparently not. I've never taken one since they're not dependable.....

Hope you all feel better.

My only run in with it was February of last year. My GF, Parents, and myself all got it within a day or two of each other (possibly from the same person if my math maths). I was last to show symptoms and first to rebound... I also worked 3 days with it before realizing I had it and all I remember saying was "how the hell did I hurt myself this bad while sleeping?" The 4th day, my off day, is when I got the fever and that came in around 3am, it broke around 1300 and then I just had a bad stuffy nose/post nasal that made it hard to sleep the next night or two.

For fun, and not to stir the pot as they just coincidental I think, my girl is up to date on hers and got her butt kicked but she typically gets really sick whenever she does get sick. Dad had none and just kind of ached and had a bad post nasal drip similar to me but a worse cough. What was odd is both of them developed AFIB-like symptoms a few days apart December of last year. Then May of this year Dad went full into AFIB and is currently being treated for it and not a week later she ended up in the hospital for irregular heart beat. Hers was weird because her body would just jump up to 140 bpm while watching TV or something.

I am not a medical professional by any means but... it seemed odd both developed weird heart issues in the same timeframe afterwards. I really doubt they're related but still, you all should take the necessary precautions to look out for yourselves and all speak with doctors to figure out what's best for you.

Covid aside, AFIB ain’t no joke. Hopefully they are seeing a cardiologist once in a while since those episodes. I had it and kind of ignored it, didn’t really know what it was till I had a full blown stroke at work. Even after the stroke it took a while to figure out it was afib that caused it. My family Doc ( best doc I’ve ever had) figured it out. I was lucky. Left me with a numb left side and problems with balance and a sort of vertigo thing. No visible effects, no paralysis, no speech issues.
Had ablation surgery a couple years ago that took care of it so far. Blood thinners for life though😕
Just one short episode of AFIB can potentially cause blood to pool and clot in your heart and the clot travel to your brain.

Both are. Dad has been seeing a cardiologist regularly since he's 25 due to blood pressure issues and even more so lately to get cleared for the neck and back surgery. And she had a 6 week monitor done to confirm everything is okay and that cutting out caffeine for her will control it for now with checkups. Dad is being medicated for it but is still "uncomfortable".

And I didn't mean to bring that up. I've heard people say AFIB can be a silent killer. In some cases people don't realize they have it. I'm glad you're on a better trajectory now.

We are born with no natural immunities. Your body develops antibodies when exposed to infections, viruses or vaccinations.
My ex would get made as hell when I'd let the boy go play in the mud, catch frogs, etc.

I've got two neighbors that home s hool. Only place the kids go to is church on Sunday and we'd otherwise not contact with the outside world. I fear for them .

I've had it twice. First time kicked my butt, after the first two shots.
I got it a second time and I've had worse colds. I haven't had any of the booster shots and don't plan on it.
One doctor I spoke with stated it is just like getting a cold at this point.
I don't have any of the comorbid symptoms.
Everyone is different and has a different reaction, it attacks the the weakest system in your body from what I have been told.
