    External hydraulic lines

i got it thanks. gen 1 alphas are 15-9/16th. $105 from SEI. Now I have the older SAE J1171 Marine and I'm not sure how to add or check the fluid with that model. The newer ones have a resevior which would be nice. Also is there a good way to bleed these lines? Can you put all 4 new lines on...

    External hydraulic lines

Hey guys I was trimming up and blew out a trim line , I believe the UP. I’m trying to find the right replacement and there’s so many out there. Some look like 15+” and other is 16+” are my 2 choices. West marine sells one but it appears to be black and not the metal braided silver looking one...

Alpha 1 gen 1 bottom anodes

Guys, do the two anode bolts on the gimbal housing run through the transom? I’m in the midst of replacing anodes. On one side it was seamless, the other side it looks as if the stud is moving too ever so slightly. Is this a place where water can enter transom? Thanks!

    5.7 merc quadrajet idle

Okay thanks! Should that little black peice that’s towards the throttle plate move at all? Because I can give it a good back and forth movement by an eighth inch.

    5.7 merc quadrajet idle

Hey thanks for the reply! The cam is not original. It’s a slightly bigger one nothing crazy. Can barely even hear a loping sound at idle. I will go ahead and check the cable as AD said. I can move the little black peice around back and forth it has about an 1/8th of movement (enough to change...

    5.7 merc quadrajet idle

Hey guys, I have a Rochester quadrajet on my merc 5.7 and the idle is never the same. I got the boat and the choke was bypassed and is zip tied open. So of course needs some advanced throttle to start. When I come back to neutral it’s sometimes 1100 rpm’s, once it’s warm off plane back to idle...

    Transom Assembly Bolt

Yeah it’s definitely a thought. I don’t think it’s the original transom to begin with so maybe not 40 years old but could be 20 lol. Thanks I was just curious if it’s okay to do so in the first place. It will be tricky to access for sure.

    Transom Assembly Bolt

Hey guys I have what I think is an ever so slight gap on the outside where my transom assembly mounts to transom. I can get a super thin piece of metal back there and touch the gasket. Can I tighten the transom bolts from the inside to pull that gap closed? Is it normal for it to separate a...

    Maintenance Grease/Oil

Hello! I'm in the midst of doing the spring maintenance and was trying to find the proper stuff to use, and all the locations. There are a few I know off the top of my head of Grease Zerks or Nipples, whatever you want to call them. WHAT grease do I use to fill those around the drive? Is the...
