This is how it’s positioned as of now. At cruising speed it doesn’t really pull to either side just in the holeshot. It could also be because I had more weight on the port side.
Quick question. Whenever I gun it for a hole shot with trim down I get a lot of steering torque and boat wants to go left until I raise trim up some, is there any way to counter this?
What I’ve learned over the last few times when I took it out is that if the boat is loaded down with three or four people, ice, chess and equipment, it will top out at 5600 RPM but if it’s just two people or by myself, it will go over 6000.
I have a 96 Evinrude 70 hp and when I go to start it over, it turns over no shine, but it makes an intermittent grinding noise every few seconds until you disengage the starter. It also looks like the teeth on the fly wheel or severely worn down?
Hello, I have a 1981 custom craft, 16 foot fiberglass boat. I cannot find any information about this food online or about its manufacture. I’m trying to figure out the max weight, horsepower and dry weight if the big. if anyone has one let me know .
I have a 16ft custom craft with a 70evinrude on the back. It has a stainless 19 pitch prop but pushes past 6000 rpm wot. Boat does 36 at 5400. Will moving up to a 21 pitch get me to 40 mph and also help keep the rpm down. She’s a light boat maybe 1200lbs loaded down
Was on the water last weekend and she ran like a top. Go to start her back up and starts for 3 seconds then kills. Now I have no spark. I took a look at the cdi box and it’s 15 years old. How long do these things usually last?
I don’t believe in too much Jerry rigging. If We’re going to pull the lower unit apart. It would make sense to do the whole thing ,money isn’t an issue.
I set the shift rod and it engages but at 3000 rpm it skips/clunks out then back in gear and brought it to boat yard today and determined clutch dog. They working on estimate tomorrow morning. I’m expecting 1000-1300. The rebuild kit is 550 plus 100 an hour in labor
OK so here’s what I got going on. When I have the boat out of water, I start it up and put it in forward, The prop engages in everything works fine. Today I Put it in water for the first time and as soon as I go put it in drive it doesn’t do it and it just keeps clicking but reverse works fine...
went to autozone and got a bulk pack of fuses for 10$ Put it and and started right up. Cranked it a few times and all good. But yeah hopefully dont blow again. When i did check the battery i did see a loose wire so that may have caused it possible.
