    I dont know if a electronic repair person can fix as its in epoxy. I asked around. Although meantime i found this replacement the description claims it works for my year but i do not see the white and black wire plug in on the replacement part.

    After diagnosing following https://www.outboardignition.com/page28.asp I came to the conclusion that the power pack fried from a faulty kill switch.. there was no power going to blue wire when cranking . I opened up the powerpack /amplifier and i can smell that it fried and can see it charred up

    Resistance was almost identical. I noticed on my owners manual it refers to the ignition as C.D ignition . I didnt know evinrude used C.D.I since 1965

    No the evinrude is running on points. I noticed even the right part number is also CDI electronic but for 1969 and some early 70s. Thanks, i will check the resistance on the coils.

    I have had this outboard for 2 years.... question do they have any type of tilt assist... the outboard is really heavy i gotta put alot of power to pull it out the water when going into shallows or pulling out the boat.
