    Prop, or Engine Issue?

I can’t find find any 13 1/4” x 15” props anywhere. There are some stainless ones going for mid $300’s but that’s a little out of my budget at the moment. I’ll carry on double checking my motor isn’t having issues before I bite the bullet on that. I don’t know much about props but I’m assuming...

    Prop, or Engine Issue?

I powered the one that came with it and it was not very loud but it did look crusty. I’d still prefer a light though so I might experiment, if it’s just grounding out a switch when it gets to temperature and sending 12v then I’ll probably just hook it up to a light.

    Prop, or Engine Issue?

Thanks for the tip on the thermostat, first thing I did was put an impeller on when I got it. It did actually have an over temp buzzer on the dash harness when I got it but figured it was useless because of how loud the old thing is. I don’t know how but I was going to maybe just replace the...

    Prop, or Engine Issue?

Hi all, I have never had a tach on my boat until recently and have found that rpm at WoT is low for my motor (is: 4800 should be: 5200). I wanted to consult here to see if anyone thinks my prop is causing this issue or if I need to be looking at the powerhead. I was wanting to get another prop...

    Boat Ramp Disaster

Glad I came across this thread because I usually leave the winch rope on when backing in. My ramp doesn't have a dock and I’m scared it will get away from me so I’ll probably back it in less and motor off the trailer from now on.

    Towed some Folk

Wow 10 miles and they didn’t say thanks… they probably got their day’s recreation fix just on that tow trip and didn’t have to pay for gas!

    Towed some Folk

Went out boating this past Saturday by myself to do some on water carb tuning trying to get my engine running right (low rpm at wot issue) and also just to waste a day where I’d normally probably be sitting around on my phone. Better to do nothing in particular out on the water than on the couch...

    Fuel Tank F Up

Yes I used a 90deg 8AN to 1/2” barb fitting to connect my fuel line to the tank.

    Fuel Tank F Up

Yes I ran a hose from the vent fitting which is just one of those AN fittings in my picture up to the vent port on the stern, I will check and make sure that is clear and that I didn’t accidentally install the hose on the rollover vent.

    Fuel Tank F Up

Hey all, posting to see if my suspicions can be confirmed by anyone. I took my boat out yesterday expecting a nice day on the water after putting in a permanent fuel tank to replace my plastic portable. Unfortunately i got out of the no wake zone and put the hammer down just to find myself with...

    Intermittent Start - Starflite 75

Yeah, I know the hot water choke doesn’t work well sometimes and obviously won’t without water through it, I do manually close it when trying to start it.

    Intermittent Start - Starflite 75

I started the engine with some gas in the cylinders and it started and sounded healthy, I shut it off because I forgot to turn my water on but then couldn't get it to start again after I got the water going a minute or two later. I tried more gas in the cylinders and it would pop right when it...

    Intermittent Start - Starflite 75

Tested this evening, the spark does indeed jump a 5/16" gap. It also now has metal core wires, I bought the ones I posted earlier in the thread. Checked compression with a different gauge and this one is reading 70psi on all cylinders, 10 psi less than what the other gauge told me. Also gapped...

Are you saying you’ve used the carbon core wires or are you referencing the set of wires I sent in the link?

    Intermittent Start - Starflite 75

Would you happen to know a good source for these? I found these that look like they’d work, I guess I can deal with the blue clashing with my fire engine red block haha. https://www.wholesalemarine.com/sierra-18-5229-9-1-wiring-plug-set/

    Intermittent Start - Starflite 75

I’ll check tomorrow. My spark plug wires aren’t solid core and are the carbon core type which were fabricobbled together last year from some I had lying around from another project. I was able to remove the screw terminals from the old chewed up original spark plug wires and re crimp them onto...
