Upgrade from small swim platform to large?

Thanks guys. I'm going to take a closer look at the swim platform from the donor boat and make a decision based on that. I don't think it's worth it if that isn't the right shape from the start.

Upgrade from small swim platform to large?

I have a 2004 Bayliner 195 that has a small swim platform/ladder extending off the starboard side of the stern. The platform is broken and not repairable so I was going to replace it with a similar one, but I'm wondering if I should consider upgrading it to the larger style platform that you can...

Can someone tell me what these wires are for?

Ok perfect, no need to worry about these then. Thanks everyone!

Can someone tell me what these wires are for?

My wiring harness on my Mercruiser 3.0 has these two wires coming out of it, one brown and white and one black. According to the wiring diagram I think these are for trim senders? But with these unplugged the trim still goes up and down, and I don't have a trim gauge....I'm sure I'm missing...

Timing my 1987 Mercruiser 3.0 with newer EST ignition

I bought a remanufactured Mercruiser 3.0 for my 2004 Bayliner 195 and installed the motor and it's running, but I'm trying to adjust the timing and I'm seeing different numbers everywhere online. I don't have the serial number for the motor, but the block number is 2770087. Everything except the...

Will my oil pan gasket leak or should I re-do it?

That would make sense! I couldn't really find any info on using these 4 piecers anywhere, so was mostly just guessing.

Will my oil pan gasket leak or should I re-do it?

I'm putting together a rebuilt Mercruiser 3.0 motor and it's one of the older style ones from the 80's that has the 4 piece oil pan gasket. Two of the pieces are cork and two are rubber. When I put them on I put some Permatex Ultra Black on the block and some on the pan itself, going around the...

    Bought a replacement Merc 3.0 Engine - wrong flywheel/coupler

Thank you guys! After posting this I found that coupler online and thought maybe that's what I need. I never would have known to get the stud kit.

    Bought a replacement Merc 3.0 Engine - wrong flywheel/coupler

My Mercruiser 3.0 motor bit the dust so I bought a rebuilt one from a mechanic online. The motor is all well and good, but when looking into putting into the boat we realized the "new" motor came with a different sized flywheel and doesn't fit the coupler I currently have. After doing some...

Ran motor (in driveway) without oil in lower unit?

It was bad, but we finally got the bolt out! A friend of mine welding a not onto the top, blasted it with a torch and was able to get it to move. While he was working on it though he said that these little brackets fell out of the out drive and he doesn't know what they are. Can anybody identify...

Ran motor (in driveway) without oil in lower unit?

Yup it's a bolt, not a stud. I didn't miss any of the other bolts including the one under the zinc. It's not separating. Going to get a machine shop help me remove it I guess. Thanks for all the help so far though guys!

Well this is good news! Thanks for the info!

Ran motor (in driveway) without oil in lower unit?

Good idea. It's the bolt that's kind of tucked in between some metal on the most bow-side of the lower unit. The first three photos are of the bolt head and the last two are after I cut the head off. The lower unit hasn't come off yet after removing the bolt head, but it might just be kind of...

Ran motor (in driveway) without oil in lower unit?

Welp, I finally had some time again to tackle this frustrating project and my first mission was to get that front bolt off. I tried so many things, filed the bolt down, buying different tools for rounded bolt head (broke some of those tools in the process) tried drilling through the bolt head so...

Ran motor (in driveway) without oil in lower unit?

Hi all, I'm very new to boating and just got a 2004 Bayliner 195 bowrider with the 3.0 Mercruiser 135hp that's carbureted and was well taken care of. After using it a few times I've decided to change out the impeller because it seems like it hasn't been done in a while and I saw the engine temp...
