    I'll 2nd that freshwater comment. I bought a 96 15hp yamaha ran in saltwater. The bolts were corrosion welded into the block and I cracked the block trying to change the exhaust gaskets. Check all of the hardware for signs of corrosion, look for cracks in plastic parts, and a replace plugs...

    So many like me love fishing the flats and chasing trout in 1-3ft of water. That bit me in the ass finally. I was changing out my water pump and noticed this crack in the lower unit. Pressure tested and no leaks, no water in the foot oil. Sanded it to expose the crack. Looks like something...
