    196X Starcraft Mariner 16

That was my other thought as well - fab the consoles later and get on the water the way it is now. Hopefully where you mount the seats work so thats just another variable. As far as capacity goes, I bet it's close to a 160SS given the bare hulls look identical. Other than that, no clue...

    196X Starcraft Mariner 16

A metal bender or press and some AL sheet could make consoles pretty quick. Maybe not as sharp as stock but close enough. Once the foam/floor is in you could get exact measurements for the height you want. I ran a magnet along all my ribs too, was amazed at what came out from under them.

    Decking Question

Yea TBN may be building little bass boats, but I wish I had seen it prior to my build. I may have gone all AL instead of wood. The wood may float but it is heavy!!! Mine is 3/4" so its overkill, plus it's epoxied. Interesting info @jtaggart on the wood vs AL weight, another reason to go...

    Decking Question

If you are dead set on aluminum, I think 1/8" is overkill honestly. I used that size for building some added supports during my rebuild. It is thicker than the hull!! So, my suggestion, watch tiny boat nation on the youtubes. He builds cross section supports with angled aluminum, which gives...

1976 Montego 16- The "Free" Puppy

I have an 800 gph on my 16' since thats what the PO installed. He upgrade the 1/2" to the 3/4" hose and fitting. Very thankful for it too since I almost sunk once before my rebuild due to just one lost rivet. Watching it pump water that was up to my floor boards for 5 min straight was eye...

    1973 StarCraft SS 16 Restore

Great advice from those two guys. Yes I do have keel rollers but my boat does not touch them - yet. Need to adjust the bunks a little still but my trailer requires welding for that one. Id be comfortable on smaller or less bunks, my set up was built because of how the "new" trailer was...

    1973 StarCraft SS 16 Restore

Im not familiar with the roller trailers, but less moving parts always made more sense to me. On my 160ss I got a trailer from the 80/90's era that sits low, and put 4 bunks on it. 2x6, boat laying on the 6" side. More contact points seemed logically better in my mind. She sits on 2 down the...

    1981 Starcraft islander project

Hi Bob! Cant wait to see this project. Going woodless is the next level build. Unless it's leaking bad or you want something modified, no rebuilds needed.

    1973 StarCraft SS 16 Restore

Looking forward to pictures once its all figured out! Looking back, I cant believe it took under a year to complete my "refresh", roughly 9 months from start to official splash. 95% of the work was by myself, but it was during the covid shutdown so there was nothing else to do. I think it...

1973 StarCraft 16’ Supersport rebuild (my first)

The only person Im aware of is @jdvasher He did an amazing job on his boat. I know coosa is expensive, but I believe he would say it's worth it.

1973 StarCraft 16’ Supersport rebuild (my first)

Welcome Scott! Great to see another starcraft being restored. It was well worth it when I did mine a few years back. Even better your son is old enough to help. It will make heading to your campsite a much more fun experience. 13 miles is a decent stretch (at least where Im from). Looking...

Starcraft Mariner '76 21 ft Splashwell modification questions

Not a mariner owner or an engineer but my .02... The main force of the motor is concentrated down low, and is braced by the transom to keel support piece (that I believe all starcrafts have. The splashwell is just what its called - a protector from water getting into the boat. Id have no...

    '67 Holiday 18' - Make it Usable

Haha well flathead answered your question, Im just along for moral support. I used those same nylon brushes all over my hull, especially to get the old glue off. Worked great.

    196X Starcraft Mariner 16

I have zero knowledge on roller trailers, but @MNhunter1 has been rebuilding his recently. Check out his trailer thread, maybe he can help answer any questions. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/shorelandr-rebuild.772860/ I do know that the more support the better, especially for our riveted...
