    1996 Tohatsu/Evinrude 9.9 4 stroke oil change

Yeah, my dealer is not close by though. As to why it matters... I'm suspicious about the fuel pump. Its $88 for the rebuild kit from Evinrude. A Tohatsu replacement pump is $9. Now, the money is speaking loudly. Jab me all you like about Chinese crap but there it is.

    1996 Tohatsu/Evinrude 9.9 4 stroke oil change

My dealer was being a smart-alec telling me Evinrude never made a four stroke 9.9. Sight unseen, he said it was Tohatsu. Is there someplace I can enter the model/serial and get a definitive manufacturer?

    1996 Tohatsu/Evinrude 9.9 4 stroke oil change

Racerone, thank you for the help. I found it. It was painted over and I was so obsessed with it being behind the cowl (that's what I was told) that I didn't see it. Once found, I felt like an idiot. Even so, thank you.

    1996 Tohatsu/Evinrude 9.9 4 stroke oil change

I could be wrong about Tohatsu origin but that's what I was told. I am not wrong about the missing plug. There is no obvious drain on either side. E10FREOC

    1996 Tohatsu/Evinrude 9.9 4 stroke oil change

My 1996 Evinrude 9.9 4-stroke needs an oil change. Online parts diagrams show a drain plug behind the starboard lower cowl. I pulled both cowls, there isn't one. OMC service manual doesn't even mention draining oil at all. Before I resort to sucking it out the dipstick tube, is there an oil...

In line 6 Exhaust - What are those holes for?

I have an old Grady White with a MC-165 inline 6. This is the old MC-1. Predictably, the transom needed replacement and now I'm ready to put the motor back in. Before doing so I need to install the exhaust pipe and where it connects to the gimbal, trough the transom plate, there are two 3/4"...
