No lights on the Trailer there is but power at the Wires

My small boat trailer has a tilt feature that caused me hours of head scratching. While trouble shooting, I leaned on the boat while talking to my wife and noticed the lights flicker. Cleaned up the tilt joint and problem solved. Had the same problem on sled trailers also.

new to me 97 ski sanger dlx 20 stringer movement near stern

This made me laugh. I dont condone unsafe boating and dont try this at home. Had an old 14' thundercraft ski boat a life time ago with a 135 chrysler and a transom with corner brackets to hold it together. Not my handy work. The transom was water loggerd to the point I could dig a hole in it...

Will this boat fit on that trailer?

Mine was a factory trailer that came with the boat from new. It fit well, I just hate rollers. I unhook the boat, attach bow line to my ladder rack and back off the trailer. I find it much more efficient. Any roller I've had over the years required me to get in the water or do the balancing act...

Will this boat fit on that trailer?

And bad breath. I bought a small boat with welded rollers on the trailer and immediately cut them off to replace with adjustable hardware and bunks. Took some work and some cussin, but well worth it

    gas odor only when underway

Bahhhhahahaha, I know the feeling all to well. I buy used all the time and tear into what ever it is at the time. Beats being the guy towed in daily as he fixes problems as they arise. It's nice knowing what you have at the end of the day. Especially on the water. Well done.

Will this boat fit on that trailer?

In my opinion, if the chines fit between the fenders it can be made to work.. I personally like my boat as low on the trailer as I can get it. I had a trailer set up to high and had to back my van in till the water near came in the back door.

    Kicker on a CC?

An acquaintance just had a new 50hp 4 stroke Yamaha installed. Just over 13k....ouch. I personally like a kicker. Cheap way to troll and peace of mind. There are plenty of electric throttle servo's on the market if you dont have controls.

    Nobody fishing?

Went 1 for 1 this morning. Fog was thick from the time I launched at 5am. Stayed shallow to avoid morons that run out the bay wide open. Scares the crap out me after witnessing a bad one a few years back.

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Alittle rant never hurt anyone. Unfortunately, the older we get, the more we are given to sentimental times. I'm pretty certain a good majority of the folks offering encouragement and advice can relate to your sentiment. Stay the course, you'll get there. :)

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

I bought a Key Largo cc last fall and had the seat and console out of it a couple weeks ago to make some changes. I was about to cut out a section of floor when a flood of glass repair memories washed over me. Within 24 hours the boat was reassembled, advertised and gone down the road. With my...

    I'm stuck

I dont pretend to know anything about larger trailers with brakes, but looking at that scares the shyte out of me. I'd be inclined to take the advise of the folks here.

Mercury Barb Male / Female Connection

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall those fittings having the female end on the tank. Either way, they're messy. I disconnect from the motor and leave the line on the tank.

    Trim and tilt question

Yes, do this with the motor down and pics showing the plate with the motor up. We cant tell for sure if the motor is to high or there is another issue. Have you run the boat? Jacks are designed to allow the motor to be mounted higher. Other than that, yes, you may have to fill old holes and...

    OK I’ve had enough.

Made me laugh. Pretty much describes our entire winter on Georgian Bay Ontario. Sledding season was a waste and spring fishing weather hasnt been much better. Things are looking up for next week as long as ol' ma nature quits having fits

    Trim and tilt question

I cant see a way out here. There should be optional holes in the plate mount so atleast yo can use the existing holes in the transome to make your adjustment. If not, add holes to the plate yourself. Whats stopping you from lifting the motor off and moving the plate? A couple hours and a tube of...
