    1988 125 HP Force Rebuild

I think I just figured out what you mean by stickys. I found the sticky from Frank Acampora about syncing the car s and timing.

1988 Bayliner Capri restoration, parts needed

1988 Bayliner Capri restoration, parts needed

I'm in the process of mostly restoring my 1988 18' Bayliner. I am missing a few parts for the removable soft top/enclosure. 2 of the 4 anchors for the frame of the top are broken, need replaced, but don't have a clue as to where to begin my search. Please see attached pic of the part(s) I'm...

    BF75S Honda 7.5 HP won't idle suddenly

Yeah, mine doesn't have the connected hose. I can still use this option if the dock is busy thus being impractical to run the carb empty at the dock. Good suggestion, thanks.

    BF75S Honda 7.5 HP won't idle suddenly

I pulled the carb and cleaned it thoroughly and also switched to rec gas, no more ethanol. She's purring like a kitten again.

    Fiberglass Hull Restoration

Well now, that was a lot of elbow grease, I had no clue I had that much elbow grease in me, Lol. I finished the wet sanding yesterday and a lot of buffing today. All oxidation is gone and looking pretty shiny and colorful now. Still need to wax and buff again and again.

    BF75S Honda 7.5 HP won't idle suddenly

I do this all the time with my other small engines, but I never thought to do so with my outboard motors, primarily because I would want to do this at the dock before taking the boat out of the water. I'll just need to work on making it habit doing so. Thanks

    BF75S Honda 7.5 HP won't idle suddenly

Last year my new to me Honda 7.5 HP 4 stroke motor ran perfectly at all ranges of speed including idling in gear as well as in neutral. Yesterday was my first time using this motor this year and it runs great at higher rpm's but as soon as I slow it down to shift into gear it stalls. Could this...

    1988 125 HP Force Rebuild

Lol, I'm climbing that hill now. I've spent a pretty good chunk of change on this motor already and I know for a fact I'm not done. New used cylinder block as well as inspection and rigid honing, new pistons, wrist pins, rings, complete gasket kit, and the list goes on. Cha ching

    1988 125 HP Force Rebuild

I'm not sure how to change the timing. I didn't adjust any linkage of anything. Is this where timing is adjusted, in pic? This is the first outboard motor I've ever worked on, so I'm kinda clueless with some things. I've rebuilt Chevy 350 motors, motorcycle motors, small engines for lawn mowers...

    1988 125 HP Force Rebuild

Can anyone tell me why the motor idles so high? I made no adjustments to any throttle linkage or fuel/air mixture screws when I tore the motor down to rebuild it.

    1988 125 HP Force Rebuild

Well today is my lucky day. I pulled the lower unit off to inspect the water impeller and it still looks brand new, no damage was done, somehow. I also figured out why the choke solenoid wasn't pulling all the way in and therefore had to block the choke plates closed with a wrench to get it...

    Fiberglass Hull Restoration

Thanks, Driveway, I will be working on this during the upcoming week after I'm completely done with fine tuning my recent motor rebuild and reinstall. I appreciate your input.

    1988 125 HP Force Rebuild

Thank you, Mc, you've painted a pretty vivid picture in my mind of what the impeller might look like after just 3 different 30 second run times before putting the muffs on. I appreciate it.

    1988 125 HP Force Rebuild

I will take your advice and pull the lower unit today and at the very least inspect the impeller and housing. What I really need is a much larger and taller tub of sorts to submerge the lower end to a minimum of 6" above the impeller. Thank you for the advice, I do really appreciate it.
