The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
My trim tab on the ole motor is acting up. It will trim up but not down. It does this every once in a while (in the middle of a fishing trip) then will mysteriously start operating fine again days later. I pulled the control handle apart last night and checked the switch by touching a short...
Motor had carbs overhauled and new fuel lines two seasons ago. Runs nice except at initial acceleration where if I hit the throttle hard at all it bogs down and dies? really have to ease it up to speed and then it runs like a champ. Suggestions on any simple adjustment I might try. My tech...
In my hast and excitement to get on the water I topped off one of my little 6gal tanks with 3 gals fresh fuel. Im running a 1985 Johnson 75hp. Realized after running on and off an hour or so at varying speeds that I didnt add additional oil for the new gas. I figure I had about a 2 ½ gal...
You working in Kansas again this spring? When the Walleye gonna start their spawning runs? Any predictions. What water temp should I start looking for? Thanks...
I fished Milford reservoir (16,000 acre) here in Midwest Kansas last week. This lake has been know for a good walleye population the last 5 years and has hosted a couple major walleye tournaments. We found it totally overrun with shad. Im talking so many shad that the entire lake is covered...
My 1984 75hp Johnson bogs down when I hit the accelerator quick from idle. I can ease up and get to plane but if I go try to give her too much gas too fast it dies. Had carb overhaul and new plugs about 2 months ago... Any ideas? Thanks!
My buddy invited me to hit some mined strip pits this weekend. Apparently they are very clear and deep. He mostly targets largemouth bass and crappie. Anyone try this? Tips!!! New on to me. Sounds like it will be a good test for my new graph...
According to netting reports the Walleye are just starting to spawn at a near by lake in Kansas. We gave it a go yesterday (3/22) in a stiff west blowing wind without any luck. I was wondering how long a midwest Walleye spawn lasts and what is the best method to catch them? I am new to...
Alright... What is a good rod/real combo for live baiting Walleye under $150.00... Under $100.00 even better. While were at it... How about crank bait trolling rigs as well. Thanks :)
I braved 40* temps and rain and threw my recently aquired 1983 16' Lund with 75hp Johnson in the water. I changed impeller as suggested here but have yet to do carb re-build also suggested. Engine started and ran smooth though a littly smokey. Tell-tail blew water so impeller job looks good...
I am ready to rebuild the carbs on my 1983 75hp Johnson. My OMC manual advises using an OMC float gage to set the floats proper height. I am wondering if there is another way to set the float position. I dont have the gage and want to get started. Should I order and wait or is there another...
I have discovered the foam in the 16' Lund I am rebuilding is damp. It is the expanding foam stuff (dont know what you call it). I have the floor out and I stuck a wood stick through the foam. The bottom 1/4 of the foam (3") near the back has some moisture as the dowl comes up damp...
Any problem with using a stainless steel rivet to connect to aluminum. I have a few bad hull rivets that I can only get to from one side and was thinking of using a high strength blind SS rivet for replacement. Can use aluminum as well but SS is much stronger. Thanks!
I am rebuilding a 1984 lund. The previous owner put in a new aerator pump which is now bad and needs to be re-placed again. I am wondering what is the typical location of an aerator pump. This one was bolted directly to/through hull hole but I am not sure if that is the correct way to run...
I have found Seloc here and Clymer at a local dealer. Which is best or is there another? Based on some good advice from this forum it looks like I am going to be doing a carb rebuild. Thanks again.
Just purchased a 1980 Lund with 75hp Johnson. It is likely the motor has not been started for several years. I fired the other day with muffs providing water. Engine would fired for a few seconds and then cut out. I was happy with that but never got water to spit. Is firing this engine with...
