My buddy invited me to hit some mined strip pits this weekend. Apparently they are very clear and deep. He mostly targets largemouth bass and crappie. Anyone try this? Tips!!! New on to me. Sounds like it will be a good test for my new graph...

Re: Strip Pit Fishing.

They are awesome. My area is full of them. Some 8-9 feet deep and some over 100. Largemouth, crappie, and bluegill abound. The smaller lakes around 40 to 60 acres if easily accessible get fished out pretty quickly as the fish don't seem to ever bee more than eight feet deep because the sunlight doesn't penetrate farther than that. The weeds don't grow any deeper than that. No weeds, less oxygen. You will have a blast and see some beautiful clear water . The fish you catch will have better and brighter colors on them too. There are a lot of 6 to 8 pound lmouths caught around here.
