yep. I don't go by re-sale blue book. A quick google showed a new replacement starts around $41,700. and depends on my DIY skills and replacement parts.

most of us , or some like me, posting on the original subject do not deny that these new "devices" perform better or smoother.....in the short haul. I look at it from a longevity, reliability issue for the long term. Also from a DIY repair capability. I don't trade in every 3,4,5 years. My...

I've had that braking quirk also. It happens more with in city driving. It also does it going around curves sometimes. Either it's reacting to parked cars or telephone poles? dunno. It would do it on hwy. driving with cars exiting but I was able to reduce the sensitivity which helped .

no...since you seem to know , show me. basically there are no accident statistics ,except for fatalities , that I can find. There seems to be rear-end collision stats, but not a comparison to the 70's....unless you find it. fatalities are down using equal measuring as to the highest period on...

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

there are more accidents today than yesteryear. There are less fatalities. Safer cars, yep, but a massive increase in inattentive drivers who just don't care and want to project their egos through their car. Tailgating is the rule. Cell phones get the attention. Practically every morning we...

No Center Attachment for Hauling onto the Trailer

eh...yeah, those don't take lateral loads at all. I do use mine for the anchor rode end tie. Using them for a tie down would be on a slant, at least on my trailer, as the rails meet to form a "Y" . Needs to be a center winch, install a bow eye, and have front rail stops.

Decent transmission rebuilder to get a rebuilt/ Reman 6L80E

I have an '08 Silverado, 100,000 +, purchased new. be aware of AFM issues. Ticking noises, for one. Google it. Low oil pressures, can be a simple clogged screen in the pressure sensor. Low oil pressure can contribute to AFM issues. Double check what codes were cleared if possible. I've...

    Electric Brake Overhaul???

"Edit: thanks for posting your query as I did not know there are boat trailers out there with electric brakes (not the electrical over hyd, I get those, but pure electric like in the video). This is a surprise to me as the combination of electricity and water in this manner do not compute in my...

No Center Attachment for Hauling onto the Trailer

"I added a piece of aluminum straping, 10 to 12 feet long and bolted it down the center to grab as many crossmembers as possible to distribute the force of the center winch to multiple points, not just the front crossmember. " This is how mine came from the factory

No Center Attachment for Hauling onto the Trailer

?...is there some confusion. my '06 pontoon with a bunk trailer has a center bow eye for attaching the winch strap and safety chain. Most all pontoons have a center bow eye for winching the boat up the trailer. No bridle. This is assuming the pontoon has been loaded "normally".
