I made a boo boo. Need advice patching transom screw holes.

Well guys, I messed up. I was in the process of installing some Bennett SLT10 smart tabs on my 1995 Bayliner 2050. I had drilled the four bottom bracket mounting holes per the instructions and as luck would have it, realized I did not have enough room to mount the spring actuator because of the...

    PSA: Outdrive steering play

While recently working on my boat I noticed my outdrive had a total of about 4 inches side to side in the steering play. I researched the issue on here and found that re-torquing the gimbal ring would help. I did that and it took all the slop out of the steering. My boat is a '95 Alpha one gen...

    Johnson/SPX pumps great customer service!

I noticed recently that my 1000gph Johnson Ultima bilge pump with the integrated digital float switch wasn't working. Water has never got that high in my bilge for the pump to actually turn itself on, however on my latest inspection I noticed it did not cycle on using the finger test. Anyways I...

I recently rebuilt my 1995 Mercruiser 5.7......Only about 5 hours total on the engine. Just yesterday went to the lake and motor was hydrolocked. The exhaust manifolds finally gave out after being cracked and JB welded. I have new ones on the way ordered from here. While I has the manifolds off...

Troubleshooting Alpha 1 gen 2 water intrusiona

I have a leak somewhere in the outdrive and water is getting in and mixing with the oil. When I removed the outdrive, the driveshaft bellows was completely dry, not a drop of oil or water. I had separated the lower unit and tested it independently by using a vac line plug to plug off the port...

Getting ready to do a pressure test on my Alpha one gen 2 outdrive and had forgot my gear oil and pump in my buddies truck who will be out of town for a week. I was going to go to a hardware store and pickup a 1/4 male barb that would thread into the drain/fill hole. Does anyone happen to know...

I was wondering if you guys that run trim tabs, in particular the Nauticus SX line, I see they sell an adjuster the PR500 to basically turn the trim tabs on or off. I haven't purchased trim tabs yet and was wondering is this something worth adding? I mostly do water sports (tubes/wakeboard) and...

    FYI Temperature switch cross reference

If anyone is looking to add the mercruiser alarm package or replace their existing temperature switch the cross reference is a TU64 at autozone for $7.99.....Mercruiser wants $65.00 for the same part, all you will have to do is change the end from a ring terminal to a spade terminal.
