    2002 merc 50hp ob backfirering though the exhaust/missing on 2 cylinders. Swith box b

    Cleaned the carbs, rebuilt the fuel pump, Comp from top cyl down is 118, 119 120. Think it could be the switch box. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Restored in Jan./Feb of 2008. Replaced the Johnson 115hp (1971) wit a 1989 88hp Evinrude SPL with power trim and tilt. The 115 ran good but had a stretched connecting rod. (2 washers on the spark plug to keep from closing the gap) Stripped the deck and hull above the water line to bare alum. The...
