    Honest informational sites for boats...

In In Texas you don't even have to do that, just go tell them it's homemade and viola your done. They don't look at it or anything. Texas parks and wildlife has a website, you can type in the boat registration numbers and it will tell you who it was last registered to and their address. That...

Coat the new socket in dielectric grease and you'll be good to go. Clean and reapply occasionally and you should be fine. That will keep water and salt out of the connector

Are you sure the tach is off? Also what pitch are you currently running? We are trying to make sure you are propped correctly before putting bandaid fixes on it.

    Hydrofoil or Trim Tabs??

I wouldn't suggest anything until you know what your max speed and max rpm is when loaded normally. Also with your 3rd person, where are they sitting? While you might be able to slap a hydrofoil on and be good, you might still be under your max rpm and straining the engine.

    Co-Ownership Question . . .

Our family shares a pontoon at our shared lakehouse... Every time I go, the boat is left with an empty fuel tank, and not very clean. And atleast once a year there is something that gets beat up or broken by others. On a new boat, no way... I am anal about keeping my stuff in excellent...

3 blade stainless vs four blade aluminum

I used to have a boat very similar to yours. Same engine outdrive also. I really played around with a bunch of different props. Mine liked a 17p for holeshot and a 19 for speed. Playing with aluminum props, I never could merge the 2. Switched to a high rake and cup stainless 19. I was able to...

    Thinking of getting salty

Man I been thinking about bringing my bass boat down to run in the bays while I'm out if town on work. But have always worried about running saltwater. I do have a galvanized trailer though. I was under the impression you want to flush the engine and wash the boat down with fresh water daily.

    Fixing Up Boat Help

I would have to see a picture of the shifter to say. First guess is a trailer button, or maybe a choke. As for the wires in and out. Not sure. Maybe trim limit, trim position for gauge? I would jump the solenoids first and go from their. If its just the wires for the trim guage I wouldn't worry...

    Fixing Up Boat Help

The trim will be on the shifter. The switch on the dash. You said you have 3, so 1 will be bilge pump, the other the blower, and the on-off-on will be for your navigation/ anchor light. It looks like your large power cable for the trim solenoids are hooked to the battery, so just like a...

Yea you might be better off that way, but just search online for your manuals. They are out there. Or you can buy one online somewhere as well. I picked up a 1984 merc outboard and found the manuals for it within a day or 2 I found this online- "The port (left) side is the limit switch...

    Fixing Up Boat Help

Honestly if your trying to fit 4-6 people and fish with that many, I would pickup a older pontoon. You can get a decent one in that price range. Just make sure the deck isn't rotted, and the toons don't take on water. It might not be pretty though. As for your current boat. It very well be more...

    Fixing Up Boat Help

Oh I agree. Yea here in Texas we don't really have much of a problem with that. But in its current condition, I would have no problem toodling around a decent lake in good weather, providing the engine will get me back home. My uncle's sea ray is completely rotted out now, but a couple years...

    Fixing Up Boat Help

While I understand where everyone is coming from... I'm gonna say look it over all the way and decide then. The guy just wants something he can float in and fish from. So I'm gonna say just roll with it. Keep it ugly, put a couple bucks making it run and use the thing. It will get you to the...
