Re: sanding/grinding help
I have a Dewalt 5" random orbital sander and it its heaven sent! I'm not an expert but I think i've read somewhere that using a belt sander its kind of bad on fiberglass hulls... I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong.
Re: Paint question
My apologiez! i thought when i said "I'll let you know how it goes" it was kind of implied that i would be using the Rusto-o. I applied two coats of the Primer it went on fairly well without thinning it. Although i was only able to cover "below the water-line". I will...
When i apply the epoxy primer to my 12' fiberglass tri hull what type of paint can i get away with using as a topcoat? i do not need antifouling paint. What is the cheapest type of paint i can use and still make it look decent?
Re: Gelcoat?
As u can see its pretty under the weather. ive been sanding and patching for three days. yesterday i filled it up with water and it seemed as if some spots were "sweating" water through the hull. Im pretty sure the gel coat is non existant right now.
I have a 12' fiberglass fishing boat and im pretty sure the gel coat is either absent or very thin. Would a primer be suffice or should i gelcoat it before priming? its just a small fishing boat so it will be trailered.
I have a 12' fiberglass tri-hull jon. Would it create too much drag to cover the bottom with the roll on bedliner they sale at an autoparts store? or will i see much difference? I only plan on using a 35 lb thrust trolling motor for electric only lakes.
This is my first time ever attempting anything like this sooooo I'm pretty sure i'll need u guyz.
Ok, first off i got this from a coworker when i traded a 12' Sears Gamefisher flatbottom 1232 for this gem. Mainly because it was alot wider and more stable than than 31" flatbottom. It had been...
