    Finishing a ski locker

Hi all, I've finally got the stringers and the bilge glassed in and am about to start laying the floor. I need to order some more catalyst so was thinking about gelcoating the ski locker and bilge. Is this what most people recommend? thank you Steve

Implications of changing the floor height

So, I've replaced the crack I cut in the hull with my reciprocating saw. I have the stringers glued in with PL and am in the process of cutting them to height. I would like to pitch the height of the floor slightly so that any water flows to the center and then the back of the boat. My...

Frak.....cut through my hull with a reciprocating saw

Re: Frak.....cut through my hull with a reciprocating saw I received my order from tap plastics on Thursday and finally got some time to work on the boat. The chopped mat and the cabosil worked great to make a putty. I also ordered some structural resin to repair the cut, and that worked really...

Frak.....cut through my hull with a reciprocating saw

Yup, so I did. It's about 3 feet long. It looks like my SeaRay repair just got a lot more complex. My thoughts on repairing it.....taper grind along the inside. Epoxy resin with alternating layers of mat and roving....the damage is on the underside and won't be seen with the boat in the water...

    It's transom rebuilding time

Ok, so half of my boat is ground out and I'm going to be redoing the transom this weekend. I'm lucky in that the transom is only goes where the outboard is mounted and does not run the length of the stern. Anyway, after reading all the posts I could I'm thinking of the following: 1. Two pieces...

    Various stringer questions

So, I'm getting ready to start on the stringers in a day or so, but like to plan my project out a few days in advance. I have the old stringer mostly in one piece.....it was actually two pieces of play butt joined together to make one long piece. I've done some searching here, but thought I'd...

    Stern Foam

I have started a tread on my 1988 SeaRay Seville project. I have spent some time in the boat....and more importantly the wifee has given my the go ahead to restore the entire thing. Which is big, since I imagine the project will take at least six months. So, anyway, The boats below the back ski...

How much wet foam is normal

Ok, so in the 1988 Searay seville OB rebuild post, I have outlined what I have done so far with my boat. I have removed a section of a stringer that was up against some rotten ply. The bottom of the foam between this stringer and the hull is wet. Up front, maybe the bottom couple mils, but...

    1988 SeaRay Seville Project

Hello All, I posted a week ago or so asking a few questions about my boat project. I finally got some time away from work (the paid kind) to take some pictures and figure out how to post them here in the forum. I tend to OCD about projects before I start them and I'm happy to have found this...

    1988 Searay Seville Questions

Hi Guys... I started this project with the intent of replacing the carpet in the 1988 Searay Seville I purchased 4 years ago. I bought the boat from the second owner, who always stored it in the barn. So, I've pulled up the carpet and removed the upholstery (which I'll replace now as well)...
