The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
I probably won’t get to doing the almighty compression test until early this week coming up. But I’m optimistically crossing my fingers at this point…. I’m so hoping I have a $50 capable 150hp outboard… I’ll post how it turns out… if the basics are good, it’ll be a nice score…. Better than...
So I got a 1986 150hp Evinrude dropped on my Trailer, I paid $50
Hmmm, 58 year old man with a 390lb motor on his trailer, and I have no idea if it even has a chance Geez……)
So I went to work. I put a nice boom out the front of my Garage, hung up my Coffing hoist and went to designing and...
I made a 1963 40hp Evinrude run that was frozen upside down in pond when I was young.
it came back and ran right up until I sold it years later... Old OMC never die, They just look that way!..........)
Jackplate will prohibit the motor from being tilted out of water when Not in use. I'm scarpping the project. I went out and bought this Boston Whaler Revenge with a 200hp for $3k instead of buying a 5" extension for $1k
Bay manufacturing wanted $750 for an extension kit. I’m sure plus tax and shipping, probably right around $900 when the smoke clears. That’s Just over the top expensive. For an old outboard extension kit……🙄
I actually like the idea of physically making my mark with a straight edge, So there’s no guess work.. the straight edge was what I was always taught… although the engine being setback 6” the 1/2” below the top of straight edge could be wrong?
Is anybody familiar with this boat? It was built in 2000, Is it a well built boat? It seems to be kinda a one off manufacturer out of Florida.the Company is called Continental boats out of Hialeah Fla.
Wouldn’t I just just put a straight edge out from the bottom of the hull and set the bracket so to make sure the AV is a 1/2” below the top of the straight edge?
I was looking at similar adjustable brackets like that on eBay, I like the idea but wonder how well the steering cable will conform to the new motor location? Have you personally had any experience with completing a system of such?
Nice thing is, it’s a boat I picked up very cheap. If I think I can get away with cutting the Transom, I really don’t have problem with that. But I’ll have to see if I can get it bolted up that way. I was actually hoping you guys had a prescribed method you’ve been using. I’ve always kept a...
