    Thinking of getting salty

I thought seawater requires zinc anodes where fresh is aluminum? As long as you use the boat to keep growth low, I don't see any reason to pull the boat out of the water.

    rolling torque wrench

I have been faced with having to "feel" it also. it boils down to turning resistance and what is too much or little load required. Read about many ways guys have attempted to get the "crush" right and hoops they went thru. I just took my time and snugged a little, turned a little to get it all...

    Thinking of getting salty

as far as keeping it in the water? like you mentioned proper saltwater anodes. As long as the gelcoat is good there should be no issues for a week or 4. raw water flushing with a hose is a good idea. hope you have a great time.

    Add gauges or not?

tach is a must for me. tells many things besides engine speed. it gives a baseline for health, unhealthy and feedback on proper setup. An idiot light is fine for volts unless you have some serious electronics and batt system.

    Thinking of getting salty

    Fixing Up Boat Help

I believe that company used foam for structural vs stringers. Gas tanks were foamed in and corroded. the company had hard times in the mid 70's and cut back on material strengths. Maybe by 80's they did not scrimp? The trihull design makes for a lake boat. hope it is sealed and the foam is dry.

    Hairline/stress cracks?

Have you owned it since new? Can you attribute the cracks to a specific time, did you have rough water? Some would say cracks are normal, I don't. Depending on the history of the boat where the cracks are, could be sign of weakened stringers, rotted floor, other load bearing parts. More...
