The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
I thought seawater requires zinc anodes where fresh is aluminum?
As long as you use the boat to keep growth low, I don't see any reason to pull the boat out of the water.
I have been faced with having to "feel" it also.
it boils down to turning resistance and what is too much or little load
required.
Read about many ways guys have attempted to get the "crush" right and
hoops they went thru.
I just took my time and snugged a little, turned a little to get it all...
as far as keeping it in the water?
like you mentioned proper saltwater anodes.
As long as the gelcoat is good there should be no issues for a week or 4.
raw water flushing with a hose is a good idea.
hope you have a great time.
tach is a must for me.
tells many things besides engine speed.
it gives a baseline for health, unhealthy and feedback on proper
setup.
An idiot light is fine for volts unless you have some serious electronics and batt system.
I would be risky enough to take that into open water but think I best
warn you about water over the bow and risk.
I believe there are "bow covers" but none the less water is heavy and snaps may not keep the cover in place.
I don't know your experience or ability to maneuver thru waves but you...
I believe that company used foam for structural vs stringers.
Gas tanks were foamed in and corroded.
the company had hard times in the mid 70's and cut back on material strengths. Maybe by 80's they did not scrimp?
The trihull design makes for a lake boat.
hope it is sealed and the foam is dry.
I am interested in the max rpms
of different motors.
4 cyls seem to be propped about 4800
6 cyls seem to be propped about 4600
8 cyls seem to be propped about 4400
I don't know why?
I don't even have a guess:/
Do you?
Hello :)
I have a 280 drive
There are not vary many props avail.
Stock, general 3 blade boring props is all.
Is there an adapter/hub that will increase
the num and style of props I can use?
Thanks
Have you owned it since new?
Can you attribute the cracks to a specific
time, did you have rough water?
Some would say cracks are normal,
I don't.
Depending on the history of the boat
where the cracks are, could be sign of
weakened stringers, rotted floor, other
load bearing parts.

Hello all<br /> I am curious about "XXXXXXXX"<br />"Sleeving" a marine block.<br /> I have heard you can't do it.<br />I would like peoples opinions on the<br />possibilty of boring out a cyl to be<br />sleaved back to OEM sizing.<br />Thanks
When I was younger, large boats were called<br />yachts. I haven't heard this term in a while.<br />What are yachts? What size constitutes<br />being called yacht? Can you go yachting<br />in a dingy?
I was just cruising along and this 17' ish<br />Bayliner came blowing by me.<br />I hit the gas and darned if it didn't take<br />80+mph to catch her.......<br />She was running smooth not a trace of spray.<br />Think my speedo is off?
