    Is there an additive I can run thru my tank to clean the carbon off the tops of my pistons. I have a 1996 25hp. Merc.....and I do alot of trolling with it. Any idea why it (carbon) has a tendency to collect there? also I've recently started running "sea foam" thru it and it seems to run alot...

    Thermostat

    I have a 96 25hp Merc. The impeller seems to be working just fine......plenty of water is pumping out the side just fine.......but the water thats coming out is extremely HOT.....and it gets thst way in short order.Leading me to believe that maybe the thermostat needs to be replaced. Any...
