starting troubles

hello folks,i just aqquired a 1978 mercer trihull with a 72 chrysler 105hp the previous owner ran it only in fresh water i have never seen a older motor so clean. hers my problem, it has spark , its getting gas , it turns beautifuly but its wont run so any advice would help thanks

shifting problems

i bought an 81 riviera for $300 and the boat ran fine for the first 3 months im now having problems with the throttle lever it sounds like its grinding in the lever and it sounds like it pops in and out if gear, i was told it could the shift cable is stretched out but i dont know
