    1985 15 hp acting like its going into gear in neutral

    I have a 1985 15hp mariner that I just changed impellor in now it keeps acting like it want to engage in neutral it just keeps making a thunk sound.... Does anyone know if I just need to adjust the shift linkage to fix this.......

    Old Mariner Outboard impellor housing looks alittle melted on outside

    I just removed lower unit after I was having some over heating issues and looking at the impellor housing it looks alittle melted does anyone know what would cause this... I would post pics but I'm unable to until I make another post.....
