    1988 johnson 40hp starter issues

    So my motor started went fishing the next day starter motor spins but will not engage the flywheel. So I replaced the starter same problem so I replaced the solenoid. Same problem but with a twist... maybe 1 out of 20 attempts to start it engages the flywheel but will barely turn the motor over...

    tranducer mounting on a pontoon boat???

    Just bought a pontoon boat and the tranducer is mounted on the back of the transom right by the lower end of the motor. Problem is that above idle speed I lose depth and bottom display, I figured out that it is cavitating because of the water turbulance. I was thinking about mounting it farther...

    starter problem on my 1988 mercury 25 hp

    When I hit the key all I get is a click. I replaced the battery and still just a click how can I tell if its the key switch, solenoid, or the starter? It was working fine then one day it just wouldn't start just click.... any answers
