    Thanks for the replies, going to pull the fly wheel tomorrow, and see if there is any good wire under it so I can splice in a small piece while I order a new part, and continue working on the fuel problem

    While diagnosing a fuel problem ( you have to pull a couple plugs and put fuel in cylinder then it fires right up, carbs are getting fuel, I’m cleaning them now) I found this wire, it has no covering and is coming apart, it attaches to the underside of the flywheel, possibly the trigger...

    I have a Mercury motor with a 60 hp metal wrap around cawling, boat it was on is a 1986, they say its the original motor, electric start, trim, remote steer, problem is its a 4 cylinder not a 3, has dual carbs ser# is 6559120, I know some people swapped cawls back in the day, the ser# fits a 84...
