    1984 starcraft islander

Scratch that, I thought I was replying to a different islander thread. The other thread is for a much earlier islander with a totally different setup. Your islander should be a match for mine! Do some google image searches, I found a bunch of for-sale posts that had detailed flooring images...

    1984 starcraft islander

This is what mine looks like (with the carpet still in eww), but it's a different build than yours being a later islander. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/im-back-with-a-1994-islander-221v.769552/page-9#post-5923412 I need to get another image with the bare wood floors, it looks less Eww...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

This reminds me of the 65hp merc I picked up for my jetstar project. The former owner of that old merc had been trying to get it running for a while. He was on the right track, for those there is this quick disconnect plug, so he went as far as re-doing some of the wiring. It has been a while...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

I also read that Bear Lake is full as well. Almost no beach is what the report said, so they said to expect limited space this summer. The boat should make life much easier for the family. No space on the main beach? No problem, we have a boat! Pineview beaches get crazy as well, and...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

And over the weekend I decided I wanted to take the Jeep for a drive since it has been a while. I was greeted with this wonderful view. The lake near me is completely full! I see water is up to the road in some areas. All of the water lines on the shore are covered. It's going to be a...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

forgot the image of the new heads. "Scored" for $335 I'm still wondering if it was a good deal or not, I probably could have gotten a set of later Vortech heads for the same price or less. But then it's a Jetting kit for the Weber, Intake, a different set of intake gaskets, etc. But I'm...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

And then we come to the "new" heads for the 4.3. I found these locally, the seller told me he was planning to put them on his boat, but then he found a cracked block. At first he told me that they came off of that 4.3, sent them out to get checked and rebuilt, but then found his block was done...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

last night I started some work on the flooring on the islander. The new middle section of the floor has been made at my fathers-in-law place, and he will deliver it this next weekend. He might treat it with some spar varnish, depending on if he remembers or not. Otherwise, I'll coat it with...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

I had a neighbor name Jen that I attempted to talk to about some difficulty I have been having with her kids and their friends last year. She went full Karen on me, made it all about her, and now she calls the city on me for every single thing. :poop::ROFLMAO:🤣 Music too loud? Cops come by and...

    1978 Islander 22 I/O

I have the tank accessible from my islander, however the more I look at it. I don't believe the size will apply to your islander at all. I think the best would be to do some measurements to get an idea what you could fit under the floor. I will note that the top of the tank to the bottom of...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

Also, the fuel line setup, I spent some time thinking about how to tackle it. The issue: the fuel line for the kicker engine runs off of a T on the main fuel line. I saw some signs that they had possibly had some issues by some white sealant that had been put on the fuel filter seal. I found...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

Well, it rained all day yesterday (Saturday), plus I did something to my back on Friday that had me laying down watching tv all day on Saturday. So nothing got done. Today the plan is to start cutting some wood for the new center flooring section, and to wood to repair the engine cover. I...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

With the engine pulled I found the drain plug pointing towards the port side. If this was an inline, it would be easier to use the drain plug, but with the exhaust manifolds on both sides, it blocks access. That is unless I position myself so I can reach my arms underneath from the front of the...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

As I'm getting ready to start on the deck floors. What is the new go-to epoxy? I have used west system in the past with good results. But this time I'm leaning more towards trying to restore some of the flooring vs replacing and sealing. I still have quite a bit of west system on hand, but...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

Well I scored a set of heads for the 4.3 last night for $335. Not the later heads, but they have been resurfaced, guides, and fresh springs. Soon,

    Assembling a 4.3 MerCruiser v6 - Parts check needed

Where do the holes usually end up in that Y? I'm going to try and get a mirror under there to see if I can see clearly where the leak is coming from. I also do see some water coming up from the top of the Y seal, and bubbles from the exhaust.

Y pipe is aluminum? I see some used units on Ebay, but I also have a guy that's a skilled welder that could probably repair it for me.

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

And I'm planning to do some work on the floors here over week or two. I have the driver/starboard seats fully removed, and the lower box nearly fully removed. The passenger side is a little different, there is a big LiveWell tank in there blocking access to the bolts and screws holding it in...

    Assembling a 4.3 MerCruiser v6 - Parts check needed

Over the weekend I got the engine running, and during the first 15min running it on a hose I found the engine is pretty smooth. So, I'm happy there. I'm also 100% sure the heads are cracked, so now I'm clear to go ahead and replace them since I know I'm happy with that short block vs finding a...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

Over the weekend I finished installing the manifolds, and using a little gas can of pure gas, I filled the fuel/water separator up and connected a little lead of fuel line to the inlet. The engine fired right up with using my timing marks I made with a paint pen during disassembly. I let it...
