Model of early 80s IO StarCraft?

I'm looking in the '83 catalog on the SC site, and it only lists/shows a CR 261 V, It does show/list several SF models that look similar to yours. (I suspect the V is for the deeper VEE hull (ie, V5). Continued looking - I see the '82 catalog shows/lists a CR 221, but the image (boat) is a bit...

Model of early 80s IO StarCraft?

Josh, You are way ahead of me, sure looks like an Islander to me, or maybe a Sportfisherman, I don't know the difference. It does have the paint shown in the '83 catalog. Dan

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

Are you going for the one in Mpls (Forest Lake)? If so, expect some rain Fri and Sat. Currently been in 80's but they are saying 70's for the weekend. We are about 6 1/2 hrs from Chicago, easy drive, once you cross the river between Wis/MN, it's only about 45 minutes to Forest lake.

    Interesting video

I don't know about any Rip Taylor, but that boat is the same as our SS 16, same year, color, trim. Of course we have a bit more motor, with a Merc 850.

    1978 SS 16 restoration

The reason I got the SS 16 was my buddy had one w/the OMC 70, (about 60 prop) it was barely able to get a skier out of the water w/ 2 in the boat. Our SS 16 with the Merc 85 powerhead/75 prop is "much" faster, and has no problem getting out of the water. But, if you are on big water, isn't...

    1978 SS 16 restoration

We have a SS 16 with a old Merc 850 (85 powerhead/75 prop) - I don't know what speed it pushes us to, but it's plenty fast, such that it's not uncommon to have to back down to get more control. I consider 75 hp about perfect for this boat. I have seen a few SS 16's w/ Merc 90 top's on them...

22 foot Starcraft, but what model?

A few years ago I was looking at a SS 22 with a MerCruiser 260 in it, but decided it was too big for the water on am usually on. But it was a nice boat.

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

I don't know, I looked through the SC catalogs and didn't see any paint job like this, the closest was in '85 or 86, so it may be. Also it has a 3.8 OMC "stinger" engine/outdrive in it, about the worse that there is. To switch it over to either MC or Volvo or OB would require either a new...

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

Not sure if this is even a SC but it looks interesting. Listed as a "1997 StarCraft ?" https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/495051569126511/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A1668cfd6-77c6-4153-ae92-af9181c863d4

22 foot Starcraft, but what model?

What does it say on the rating plate? On the catalogs (that I have) only a SS or a Holiday is listed in the 22' V5 trim. Here is a '79 rating plate for the SS V5 OB. I also have one for a '78 but it's hard to read.

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

Just checked FB - fall is here, with Labor Day over, there are a lot of boats now listed. Just a couple examples: SS 16 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1453003188534906/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp:49850e46-a45b-4f48-84ba-ec7b9d717a70...

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

And being listed for 15 weeks, the owner dearly loves it. It has the same pits and pieces that our SS16 has, which I've ID'ed as a 1970.

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

I may be wrong, but that might be repainted. (edited - or not?) My other comment is how big of a boat do you want, this one is smaller than the SS16 for example.

    StarCraft Holiday

Agreed, could this be an SS that was converted to closed bow? Any clues on a S/N plate? (assuming it's old enough)

    198x SS-150 rebuild

It's been a while sense I've read you progress, nice work, you are doing well. As for the trailer, what kind of boat ramps do you typically see/use where you are? Here in MN, where we often have short or unimproved ramps, where the boat has to be winched onto the trailer, roller trailers are...

Where to find a solid boat

Seems like the 1st thing you need to decide is what style hull you want, ie, a semi vee, (flat at the back) or the typical Starcraft "gullwing" full vee. I can tell you from experience, the semi-vee rides a lot rougher the the full vee. The other thing is how large a boat are you wanting...

    Vintage or just old??

All depends on where you are located. Here in MN, where there are a lot of similar boats for sale, that's about a $1500 boat in the FALL (now), in SPRING it might bring $2500. The boat is just old, as is the motor. Ten years ago I bought a 1990 16 ft Lund, 1990 25 Johnson and trailer for...
