Why it's called YYZ story is great, Neil is a huge reason I started playing drums (as a kid I thought I'd play his style - ya, right), He was a great writer too, besides the songs, his books are interesting reads too - Ghost Rider comes to mind..
at least they still have cheerleaders, do they still get paid the same?
of course the "official explanation" is about safety - so nobody can say anything
Not being familiar with your local weather (and ignoring the freezing considerations here), IMO you want to be sure everything drains well, no liquid or solid material builds-up. And try to minimize the potential for critters to want to live (and eat) in there.
That was one of my father-in-law's (RIP) oft-used expressions (our Family has been Buffalo sports fans (ya, even the Braves) for a long time). Thanks for reminding me of that Great Man! Not so much thanks for reminding me how much that expression fits for Buffalo sports teams
PS - if you're...
+1 on Mr. D's suggestions (I think he meant gear oil, not fuel) - going thru and cleaning up all electrical connections is good to do for many reasons, plus you get familiar with your machine
Having done a lot of tubing and pulling tubers over about a 1/2 century, agree with the above. Which tube, prop, etc you use will depend on the tuber and what they're looking for. As things have progressed from the old car/truck inner tubes, and the smaller "tubes", they got bigger and...
So, don't even try to start it briefly in the slip now? I suspect the oil pump gave it up while out, or almost did, generating high engine temps. Does an oil pump operate in an all-or-nothing fashion?
The GM 350 style long-block that we put in as a re-power has running well for almost 10 years. Last week it shut-down after being fueled-up, run on plane, then running just above idle. It re-started after a few minutes, but I headed back towards down-river, and to the slip. Was running OK...
I like curves, and your description of a bathtub curve. After re-powering our boat for the Niagara River, Lake Erie, etc and enjoying what sounds like the middle part of that curve for about 10 years - it seems like we might be getting to a final part of such a curve (and focus on our other...
Interesting article -
"The open house showcased the manufacturing steps of the zero-emissions boats, starting with the raw materials and ending with the finished products."
yep, trying to convince people with short-sighted "reasons" - they really should stop saying that, it's not true, not the...
water level outside the boat is where it should be and that water level is lower than the subject location of the plug on the exhaust manifold - pic will still not post
Thank you.
Wish I could get the pic uploaded - there's a very short piece of closed-end hose on there attached to the end of manifold with a band-clamp. And that rubber stop is now slowly leaking - seems like it was just a barn-job, and a threaded metal-plug should have been put in there...
agreed, especially on the laws of physics (nothing is free)
on the court order, etc - makes me wonder how much $leverage$ the existing power-selling companies have
How about some kind of towable paddle-wheel electric power generating turbine? Just spit-balling here, I'd guess others have thought about this - probably several reasons that's a no-go.
What plug size/type should I get to replace the leaker on the aft starboard exhaust manifold on the GM 350 in this carb'd IO boat? When this boat was repowered about 8 yrs ago, I think this manifold plug mighta been just something around put on the get things running. I shoulda measured it...
Interesting idea. Is that wind turbine rated at 50 m/s at the tip? That may be a different velocity vector than your vehicles' speed.
This concept has been an interesting possibility to me for years (not sure). "Kean Wind Turbines Inc designs and manufactures wind turbines. The Company...
Ya, its a skill-testing event every time. Sure sucks when someone sets a low, dark little boat adrift and you come up on it - glad it was just me in a little tinny that time, 'cause I'd have launched, and who-knows what. Was not concerned that someone was going to have to search for their...
