    OMC Cobra tilt/trim help…

K Took the little plastic insert cover off and all looked well. If there was a problem at the helm, wouldnt I get no clicks on whichever side was shorted/disconnected?

I mean, aside from the line with the 50amp fuse, thats pretty much the entire system accounted for.

    OMC Cobra tilt/trim help…

The starter is brand new, just replaced last week, so that connection is good. I replaced the terminal end for the main battery line going to it because it was all rusty and corroded. I did not notice issues with any of the other connections

    OMC Cobra tilt/trim help…

Ive searched and have found every answer I have tried, still stumped. 1986 Sport-Craft with a 4.3l Cobra I/O. Tilt/trim stopped working. Replaced all three solenoids (figure Id change the third just in case) and no change. Replaced the pump with brand new one, no change. Replaced connectors for...

    1977 Evinrude 75hp Tilt/Trim sending unit…

Since it is there already, I want it working correctly. As of now, the gauge will jump around a bit when activated but generally needle pegs to the UP position and stays there when power is cut to the gauge. When power is restored, the needle goes in further past up til it can not go any...

    ‘76 90hp Head cover sealing…

Carbs are freshly rebuilt, also new reed valves. That head, which im replacing, looks like someone shoved a bolt in the cylinder and let the piston go to town lol

    ‘76 90hp Head cover sealing…

I have no idea. It was “repaired” by previous owner. Low compression in cyl 3 less than 90psi and a little low in cyl 1. Caused all sorts of problems. Figured it was a head gasket or piston rings. Nope, its this. So i will be getting a new head and head cover, but just want to make sure about...

    ‘76 90hp Head cover sealing…

There is no gasket in the parts list for the head cover, only for the head to the block. I am replacing, and the one I had was sealed with some black RTV. Is that the correct process, or should I be looking for some unlisted gasket or? Check out the chewing on this cylinder head, its why Im...

    Stuck check valve…

No plz all input is welcome. Just explaining my intention a little better. I was not aware of the reliability of the old check valves. This is my first Chrysler. Mostly only dealt with old Mercs with check valves in the past, and those all came out relatively easy. When restoring, I go down to...

    Stuck check valve…

Oh yeah I realize all that, what I meant was there isnt one aftermarket to fit OEM style. I end up restoring most of the motors I have, and like things to be pretty close to original

    Stuck check valve…

I would, but there isnt really a newer pump to upgrade to. No worries, I found a good used one to swap in. Thank you

    Stuck check valve…

‘76 90hp Chrysler outboard. Fuel pump check valves are stuck in their seat. Anyone have a good way to remove them without damaging the pump itself? These things are pretty well stuck in there, but there are not any outward signs of corrosion or gunk.

    2006 Johnson 9.9hp need help…

What about the enricher? Would that cause the issue im having? I researched how the auto-enrichener works and it seems like it increases fuel flow when cold rather than restricting air-flow like a choke, correct? Does it allow THAT much more fuel to flow, where youd almost get full throttle...

    2006 Johnson 9.9hp need help…

I have the carb all apart. Only notable items were the carb throat, which was so black and evenly distributed front to back that i actually thought it was colored that way for some reason until I started cleaning it, the inlet manifold also had black buildup, and the idle screw needle had a bit...

I have not re-checked the timing. I did not know this type of problem could be a symptom of that.

Would cork gasket material be fine if any of the originals are broken or worn out? I can make my own if so…
