    Not sure how much hours, when I bought boat the tacho was dead, I did 160hrs. Dont have any problem with burning oil, runs nice, starts nice, no blue smoke. Just wondering if I can do it while covers are off. Can the compression test show the issue with seals? btw. doesnt look bad

    How about leaving the plugs off? I did it once and no problem but read somewhere its not recommended also in Merc Manual they say do not leave it open.. (?) I drain the block, then fill with antifreeze to flush and drain AF as well to be 100% sure there isnt any fluid left,

    Thanks Again here Chris, Ive set it much leaner and runs smooth when cold! I think my spring coil in thermostat may be just worn and when lean the spring is very weak... will figure it out soon, again Thanks a lot Regards from Europe

    I will lean more but... do you know what can cause this rich setting? Plugs are brownish/tannish. But runs nice when warm, full @ WOT.. only issue when cold 1st start of the day. May the float drop will be wrong ? I’ve new brass float but set to the manual regards

    Again.. Today after sitting 1 week ive got blackish smoke coming from the exhaust and running rough ,I think its running too fat. It happens only when 1st start of the day only, im wondering if its issue with the choke, need to lean it more or maybe too much float drop (?)

    Hello folks, i will do my 1st ever compression test on 2005 V6 4.3 Mercruiser, I want to do dry then wet, but how much oil i should pour into the cylinder for the test? All plugs out, WOT then 5 cranks per cylinder, am I right? Thanks
