    It is definitely spark related when I first moved distributor it ran strong on all 8 for a short while. I'm thinking advance is screwacky trying it tonight with timing light while throttling up

    Flat tappet good oil used with plenty of assy lube soaked lifters as well lobe NOT rounded new camshaft this happened from the get go on new camshaft that's why I replaced camshaft two lobed on old cam were gone .

    Is it possible to use thunderbolt distributor to go back to points and cond. ? Old school is the best for me . I would love to get rid of the elect ign period ( I know don't ask ) so much easier for me .

    Replaced cam shaft idles perfectly slowly gave throttle engine starts missing it is a electrical issue I turned distributor a bit and smoothed out - shut off started again same thing new cap/rotor wires pulled plugs all look fine but going to replace in the morning - any other ideas I'm...

    Camshaft is in and engine is running great. I did not have to remove oil pan nice and easy job the bilge area I had enough room to pull cam out and put in new. Thanks for all the help and info

    Does the oil pan on a 84 mercruiser 350 need to be removed to get timing cover off to change camshaft ? Hoping not to pull engine to change camshaft . I have room in front of engine to slide camshaft out So does pan HAVE to come off to remove timing cover ?

    finding conflicting inquires about rear main seal -- 2 piece ? is there a difference in camshafts for rear main seal or is it the same cam 431-5943 i am in need of 1 i have twin engines in boat starboard is SHOT dished lifters 2 of them wanting to replace camshaft
