    Noisy water pump? 4.3MPI

Well, it's either locate the problem using magic or whatever or ignore it. Poster's choice. No one can tell him what the noise is from 2500 miles away until something breaks - then it's easy. Just like magic.

Merc 5.7, alpha 1 gen2, Rochester marine 4bbl flood gushing up out of bowl/float vent!?!

There is a noticeable lack of quality in chinesium carb kits. It is worth the money to get quality kits just for the needle valve. Cheap needle valves tend to not seal properly. As noted by everyone, float height is critical. Check and recheck. And as noted, fuel pressure test is indicated...

Wow. Hard to choose your culprit. Shifter, linkage at motor, bottom end of drive.

    Air Fuel Ratio Carb Tuning

Ah, I missed somehow that you were on a 5.0L. My understanding when I bought my 1409 was it was pre-cal'd for a 5.0L. So this now makes more sense. Lisdexic.

    Air Fuel Ratio Carb Tuning

Can you better define out of the box? What jets, springs and needles were installed? Then where did you end up? I never had to do anything out of the box with the accelerator nozzle. And I found that opening the secondaries for the last half only produced more noise, not more speed. So I...

    Noisy water pump? 4.3MPI

Run it without the belt. If still noisy, use a fancy mechanics stethoscope (a 24" broom handle) and hold it to components and your ear to locate where the noise is located.

5.0 Mercruiser Cutting Out While Underway

Disconnect the grey tach wire from the coil, try it again. See if the tach is shorting. You have the crab style disty cap? I'd replace it. DIsconnect and reconnect your man overboard lanyard. Make sure it is making correct connection. If that doesn't get it, put a voltmeter on the purple wire...

The one on the outboard post goes to the fuel pump - purple yellow. Orange on the inboard post.

Mercrusier 350 MAG MPI - RPM issue under a load

LOL. Good thinking. But those are the internal 2 piece truck seals. Second time I replaced the seal used every trick to make sure it went in straight with even pressure. Still seeps, darn it.

Mercrusier 350 MAG MPI - RPM issue under a load

I'd be losing it a bit. I never take anything to a shop unless I totally fail - like I have an oil seal on a rear wheel of my Chev 1 ton that I have replaced twice and still leaks. I'm contemplating seeing if someone else can see something I'm missing. Generally, between asking for advice from...

Merc 4.3 in a 2006 Maxum SR3 1800. Will crank, won’t start. Seems to be fuel system related…

If you have a helper, or if you have a remote starter button, unplug the plug going to the pump and test the purple/yellow wire when cranking for 12V power. Also turn on the ignition switch and test that the purple wire at the oil pressure switch has power and then test the other side of the oil...

Mercrusier 350 MAG MPI - RPM issue under a load

The difference in the plugs from hole to hole is startling. I can see how you are frustrated. IMHO, if you had water in those white insulator holes, the entire insulator would be white, not just 2/3rds of it.

    Whats wrong with my boat?

You must use a line wrench on fuel fittings. And you also need a wrench on the filter housing into the carburetor to keep from twisting up the fuel line.
