    Shifter

I believe the 99 uses a little different shift rod it has a bend at the top. Usually those lower units are robust very seldom do the just stop shifting. Might be an easy fix

1990 90HP Pontoon, 4300 RPM at WOT, Do I need a new prop?

why do you think a 150 prop will fit that motor? Stop making this so hard on yourself. you don't need to buy a Mercury or any of the other brand name props. Solas props are relatively cheap and are pretty good props. You are not running a 100 MPH boat here. Call Michigan wheel or Solas to get...

1990 90HP Pontoon, 4300 RPM at WOT, Do I need a new prop?

Almost none of that statement has any basis in fact. Except the stainless is heavier than aluminum that is true. 1986 Mercury 25XD

How are you testing spark? It should jump a 7/16 air gap easily. Get the manual and start testing. The parts cannon gets expensive. I would guess your problem is in the switch box.

    1988 100hp mercury spark plugs

That is absolutely a diaphragm pump. Clearly shows them in the pic 5 and 2. If it gets its pulse from block pull that hose off and see if it's full of fuel. It should not be

    System Check Wiring Harness Compatibility

You will need an adaptor. I believe the 94 is a red plug and your 97 has automotive style plugs. CDI makes the adaptor.

    1988 100hp mercury spark plugs

They are part of the carb. This is what they look like and you should buy a carb kit and rebuild/clean the carb. Buy a good kit...

    Are plastic props junk?

Chances of finding a prop for that motor is going to be some slim. Treat that one like gold replacements will be hard to find.
