    It is a V-6 power head.---Also indicated with 6 compression values posted.-----And those have always used head gaskets !!!!! this statement kinda says "all" v6's.. ta me anyway.. sorry if i misinterpreted.

    JAN.. the SJ V6 powerheads (175, 210, 240) all went ta o ring in 2000 along with production 2.5 V6's... doubt that any kinda "additive" is gonna help.. right now its jus showin' "weak".. may/may not be any damage.. it needs ta be LOOKED at to determine which it is... then you can devise a plan...

    if your mechanically inclined ya might wanna pull tha head an take a peek at tha hole and piston.. could be tha start of something serious or jus a little excess wear.. would at least get a bore scope in it.... jmo.

    good idea... but you may still have a bad switch box if its down on power.. with all things right ie: gearcase, prop and motor height it should turn close ta 5800 or more on tha right hull.... not to familiar with cheeta.. what type hull?.. weight?.. may be a little short on hp for a 20...

    tha sensor itself is a magnet setting on top of tha oil pump boss.. it reads rotation of pump drive gear and coordinates a reading between it and tha firing of tha cylinder from tha switch box to produce a signal to tha module.. doubt its bad... some say you can move tha green coming from tha...

    there is a green wire (rotation sensor) coming from tha alarm module going to bottom terminal of one of tha switch boxes along with another green going to one of tha coils.. disconnect it (module side) and test.. you may have a switch box going south.. this would explain it being down on power...

    do you get tha self test beeps when key is turned on?.. is tha alarm over 4200 oscillating beeps or a solid, continuous beep?..

    yes and yes.. tha "powerhead" itself is a '91 200, probably a replacement .. tha rest is earlier..

    "When I ground the tan wire from the Oil warning module, I get solid beep" is that with it separated from tha "other" tan on tha terminal block?

    do you NOT get tha "test beeps" when key is turned on?... with key on ground tha tan coming from tha module to tha small terminal block after its disconnected from terminal block. if you get nothing or you get a solid beep module is bad............. tha module's sole purpose is to make a signal...

    sounds like its operating correctly........... it changes sound because its a different circuit so ta speak.. tha tilt part (single large cylinder) is jus that and has nothing ta do with tha trim (2 short cylinders) part...... also tha single will not hold under power..

    tha pretty one with tha red strip is a drop on (pee hole and trim switch is a give away).. tha ugly one with tha blue maybe a clamshell?.. gets to blurred when i blow it up....

    like i said they ended in 1988 so yeah, they were available in tha 80's!.. tha drop on came in 1989.. tha only louvered/vented clam shell was XR2 (one piece stamped metal, looked like louvers.. doesn't show on parts list) XR4 was glass and an assembly of sorts.. look at your parts list for any...
