Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

I agree. I am looking at a 75hp engine on the other side of the state. Gentleman has not spoken with me yet but description says he's aging and just wants to part with it. Allegedly as low hours. I would preferably wait until I can possibly find a good used motor from a shop, but if I can find a...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

I am confused. There was a post here with a complete restoration of this really beautiful blue and white boat that I read and watched videos on. There was not one comment that I saw. and I can't imagine that nobody was interested in it. I could be wrong, but I don't recall the op asking for no...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

I have some random questions that I just thought of if you all would be happy to assist with. 1. I am assuming that there is foam in the hull that will need to be removed and replaced. I also assume the foam is there to assist wit stability and buoyancy? If it assists with buoyancy, then...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

I would like to eventually create a story line tutorial of all the things I did, all the things I failed at and all the things I succeeded in like others have done before me. I did not see any comments in theirs, so there must e a way to close the comment section off...but I also agree....at...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Once things start, I would like to post updates and pictures and possible videos of the process. Do I do that in this thread, or start a new one? And if I make one, is there a way for comments to be turned off just so my progress can be displayed? I can assume that if I posted updates, that...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

I am definitely keeping the boat. I will probably look into selling the motor to make something off of it and then buy another 85 hp used motor.

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Yes clearly lol.... but I can not find out what kind it is. Based off the pictures and what others have told me..... without any identifying information......I can deduce that it is a possible mercury 2 stroke outboard that dates back to 2005 at least or later..... but that's not enough...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

This is correct...At least in my case. Registering the boat was very easy. I just went to the DNR and had a temporary registration in hand within 20 minutes. Getting the trailer registered, is proving to be a real pain however,
