    surging after carb rebuild

Actually could it be a clogged gas tank vent line? The boat sat for 5 hours before starting for the return trip and it starting surging immediately upon giving it gas. I would think it would have had plenty of time to depressurize if the vent was the issue.

    surging after carb rebuild

Fist run of the season with last years gas after a full carb rebuild Brand new fuel pump and water separator The boat ran perfect for about 20 minutes. Then on the return trip to the ramp it was surging what seems like the exact timing with the fuel pump pumping. Consistent with no hesitation...

    What size drag link socket

AHHH.....I was reading people recommend an impact screwdriver and I thought they meant an impact screw gun. Are those bits it comes with big enough for the large groove in the screw or is it sloppy?

Installing my carpet tomorrow on my deck. It's wide open flat except for 16" up the walls so should be pretty simple ( I hope) About 7x7 I could roll it with a paint roller or use my never used HF Spray gun Which would be kinda fun What do you recommend? Any tips besides laying it all out...

Could use some help ASAP. No gas getting to bowl after rebuild I rebuild the entire carb yesterday for 7 straight hours. I followed a Youtube video with the same carb EXACTLY as I did it. It's on the boat When I crank it it wouldn't start. Plenty of gas getting to carb. Tested and gas shot...

    Bogging at low idle.....carb issue?

4.3 2 bbl electric choke On muffs Stays running at higher RPM's and sounds fairly smooth At idle it stalls when cold BUT if I close the butterfly to almost closed it revs up. I can sorta control the RPM's with the butterfly. Seems to stay running better at idle when warm but still not good...

    Replacing alpha one retainer nut

So your saying the o ring does in fact stop water from entering the bellows. The lip on the outdrive and the lip on the bellhousing line up and the distance apart is the exact thickness of the o ring. It makes sense the oring compresses when the outdrive is bolted down. This differs from the...

    Replacing alpha one retainer nut

It sounds like the retainer nut and oring will have no bearing on water infiltration in the bellows so that's good.... But according to my measurements I have 2 7/8 to where it sits in the cavity and 2 and 5/8 to the nut. A difference of a quarter inch which is the exact width of the fat...

Buy a boat with a bad starter?

Is there a solenoid on the starter you can override with a screwdriver? Could be someone fried the starter cranking the crap out it with a carb that needed to be cleaned....or a frozen starter shaft that I had on my old boat. A new starter and I kept the boat for another 5 years Sounds like a...

    Changed Bellows still have water

It does have an o ring for the water tube. It is in place when I pulled it off so I would assume that's not the issue

    Changed Bellows still have water

If I can't figure it out and decide to change the u joint bellows which I can feel coming, What side first. Bellhousing or transom side. I researched this a lot when I did it last year and from what I remember they say this is the one time the book got it wrong. I "think" the word on the...

    Changed Bellows still have water

It's to late for me to edit the OP It's a an Alpha one Gen one. I don't believe there is a metal retaining ring on the Alpha one and I used adhesive before installing them with a hose clamp......it dried quicker than I could get it together as it was a royal PITA Are you saying that the 3m...

    Changed Bellows still have water

How do I go about doing that? It's a sealed unit once the outdrive goes back on. Is there a way to isolate the bellows from the gasket as far as testing for a leak? I can't think of way

    Door latch broke

The little spin latch that holds the bifold cabin door closed broke. I googled every name I can think of but nothing came up. Any idea of what this latch is called or if it's even available? If not any ideas on a different approach? Without it the door slams around. It's a glass door so I can't...

    Plywood floor replacement...Questions

No....As I said I plan on donating it to the fire dept. They practice on old donated boats. Not that selling old half rotten boats seems to be stopping anyone. The market is flooded with them. I'm choosing not to do that as I got my money out of it Being that I removed the floor, inspected the...
