Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

Truer words have never been spoken. LOL.... You are right......but I took some of the information with a grain of salt......Because I had gone through minor exposure with cutting the fiberglass.....I had absolutely no idea that grinding it was going to be this extensive until my arms were...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

This has all been a really good learning experience for me, so I do not regret any of it regardless of the pain and inconvenience that it has caused thus far. I can say that I will never voluntarily do this much glass work again LOL. If anything, I will teach the next guy a thing or 2 and let...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

It is what it is...I will be extra careful when I go at it this week. It will probably be overkill to be honest, but I do not want any more itching. What's the Freedom Boat Club??

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

After this week, I should be done with the real difficult stuff.....After that, the only grinding I will have to do will be regarding the rebuild.....I have to grind down the exterior of the hull to gelcoat, and grind down any imperfections to make things flush etc. After all that though.......I...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

WHEN DOES THE ITCHING, PAIN AND RASH END? LOL I am still planning on continuing/finishing the grinding this Wednesday and Thursday, but I would so much rather do it without worrying about the current issue at hand. I have an appt with a dermatologist this Wednesday. That was the soonest I could...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

The pants are one, I'm not stopping. I am however going to wait until all this redness and irritation subsides as it has only increased since I last took pics. I am definitely going to go overkill with precautions next time I go at this. I have a box of suits coming my way that I found on...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

I do not want to pay for glass work when I am so close to finishing the demolition. I am going to be super careful though next time. Funny you mention bottom painting. I plan on redoing the outside of the boat with glass over the holes I accidentally made as well as a fresh coat of gel coat...

Felt well enough to get up and take these photos. Right hand and arm are a little worse than the left side.
